UI/WEBSITE REDESIGN    GRAPHIC DESIGN

YWAM Kansas City

I worked as Digital Marketing Manager for a year at YWAM KC, and below is my work on their website, social media, print and digital material. Here was where I got my first taste of WordPress design and Canva and fell in love. I had the honor of training over 10 students graphic design skills in the course of the year.

━   Project Scope

The organization had an existing site using Salient on WordPress, so it was a matter of changing up the layout to have more white space and add more information in a legible way. The goal was to increase student enrollment.

━   My Process

My focus was providing as much information to prospective students as possible without overwhelming them. I added a lot of different assets such as:

  • FAQ accordions
  • Multiple sections of information with tons of images from the programs
  • CTAs to fill out a form or chat
  • Added dates of upcoming programs
  • Included videos and text testimonials

Overall, lead conversion increased by 37% with the redesign and addition of containers.

Before working with Tiffany, I had little knowledge of social media marketing. When I was under her leadership, I was able to learn simply, quickly and efficiently. She was able to adjust to my learning style and she gave me such practical tips that I am still using today. She also brought so much fun, creative and passionate energy to the table.

I now can code a website, design graphics, redesign a website and much more.

━   Project Scope

I also implemented a social media strategy and trained students on how to use Canva. However, I wanted to do something special before I left the organization. My final project was this month-long feed design for December.

━   My Process

It took a little over 2 weeks to design all 31 posts, utilizing Christmas themes to create intersecting graphics so when you scrolled through the entire feed at certain times of the week, the feed would look like one huge graphic. I took images from Unsplash, used Christmas song lyrics, and pastel colors to create the graphics.

━   GO Acceptance Card

This card was mailed out to students that were accepted into their programs, with a friendly handwritten note (by me!) to add a friendly touch. I pioneered this project as nothing was set in place for students who were accepted, so I designed the art, wrote the copy, and ordered the prints.

━   Event Flyer

An event flyer designed for a conference that would be put all over coffee shops and local church announcement boards.

I went with bold duotone colors to stand out from the organization’s colors, which were black, white, and red. This bold color scheme attracted people’s attention and saw an increase of 200+ attendees from previous years of the same conference.

━   Media Kit

Below is my redesigned version of the media kit for the organization since the existing one was purely text. I added quotes, goals, logos, color schemes, and ways to use sample images/videos. The design to be minimal and like a magazine.
